Another flawlessly executed meal. Damian provided excellent service, but the table was sticky. That's not the norm here. Minor, but irritating.

First time at Coastal Flats and our experience was positive. Our waiter was very attentive as the place was packed with diners. While we waited, alll the food that passed us by looked pretty good! Short Smoked Salmon Fillet [5] Wood Grilled Filet Mignon [5] The Filet mignon came out a perfect medium. Will be back.

I seem to recall this was the first Caostal Flats I'd ever been to... that was probably back in the early-2000's. I've been occasionally over the years, used to go a lot years ago - Bottom line, the service and food has consistently been great! Just like most all the other GAR joints, this is another excellent choice for a meal, especially a business lunch or dinner. Stopped in for lunch during a business meeting and everything was great! Checking in, the ladies up front were on point, professionally and helpful! Once seated, service was quick and very friendly. The food was prepared nicely! I tend to gravitate towards the fish of the day when visiting a GAR restaurant and tried again on this visit - the Mahi was excellent! Bottom line - definitely highly recommended... Consistently great food and service are to be had!

Food is great. It was the best shrimp and grits that I have ever had. The bread is amazing. Service is good as they work in teams.

We came in for a team dinner and the place was packed even on Wednesday maybe due to Juneteenth. In any case, we had a reservation and were promptly seated. Our waitress was pretty good and took the time to explain the menu to us - we ordered a couple of starters and I ordered the special Mexican style Mahi Mahi , which turned out to be pretty decent. My guest ordered the shrimp with the grits and we had the deviled eggs with bacon as a starter both of which were pretty tasty. Net net, we had a decent experience although the place is kind of expensive and not easy to find, or find parking.

Went to coastal flats for lunch, ordered beef ribs & my friend ordered filet tips! server named 'Elvin' was very attentive and the service was quick. Drinks were also very great. There was no wait time for seating. I loved how they have an outdoor bar and overall the environment was very welcoming. For dessert i got the chocolate waffle with vanilla bean, the chocolate was so good and the waffle was so warm, the ice cream melted perfectly to create an amazing combination! would go again soon for sure !

Food was really good and the service was efficient! The ambiance was nice and cozy, too. The only big con was that the water glasses were dirty. The calamari was coated in a sweet and sticky sauce - I wish they didn't toss the calamari and just put the sauce on the side, but I still enjoyed the appetizer. The ozzie rolls were really good! They had a nice chewiness and fluffiness to them. The salmon filet was cooked medium rare and was delightful. The sauce it came with was a tasty accompaniment. The pecan crusted trout was my favorite of the night! The flavors were light and fresh, and the candied pecans added a touch of needed sweetness to balance the tartness of the sauce. I had a great dinner here and will be coming back!

Wow do I love this place. Their lobster bisque is the best, at least this side of Boston. Am very picky about seafood, but Coastal Flats is excellent. Do they have other items? Sure and all are delicious, including the burgers and pastas. Yet what I seem stuck on/addicted to, would be their succulent fish tacos. Wow these deliver an amazing taste, full of flavor, and consistency is always here. The dinner rolls are evil in a good way. Plenty of beers and wines to choose from. This is a family friendly place, but I like it for dates. There's something comfortable about it. Sure the restaurant is beautiful, yet maybe it's the ambiance. It is a happening spot. You can go in casual, although I'd recommend "business casual." It's a relaxed atmosphere, but sometimes it's good to dress up a bit, and enjoy the experience. The tables can be from intimate size to huge. Do be careful parking here, as the drivers are aggressive and nuts. Then again that's northern Virginia. As a frequent diner, I've never seen or experienced bad service here. That's very impressive. They obviously put a lot into their hiring and training process. Every server has had a delightful temperament, they know the menu well, and they get to you right away. They are the exception to the rule. By all means go here. If you want to feel valued and like quality food, you'll be here once, and then even more after that.
